Stephen Coudounaris is an associate in the Technology & IP Transactions Practice Group in Kirkland’s London office. Stephen advises clients on the full spectrum of intellectual property, technology and data privacy elements of complex corporate transactions and other commercial arrangements, including in relation to mergers & acquisitions, carve-outs, divestitures, private equity investments, debt finance, corporate reorganisations, strategic partnerships, IP and technology licenses and service arrangements (including transitional services, IT outsourcing, software development, manufacture and supply, research and development, etc.).
Stephen also has a keen interest in advising clients on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related data privacy laws, and on cutting-edge and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and blockchain.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Stephen was a technology, media and telecommunications lawyer at two leading Australian law firms, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Webb Henderson, and was a senior legal counsel for KPMG Australia advising clients on complex and novel commercial arrangements in relation to technology, software, IP, data, outsourcings and managed services.
