Black Attorney of the Year 2022

Lawyers of Color has named Kirkland & Ellis partner Mike Jones as its 2022 “Black Attorney of the Year.” Mike was recognized for his involvement in a 12-year HBCU pro bono case, with a settlement of $577 million securing equity in education for Maryland’s historic Black colleges and universities. Additionally, Mike was recognized for his successful litigation career and as the first Black partner at Kirkland.
