Rising Star: Maggie Flores

As part of the 2024 New York Legal Awards, partner Maggie Flores was recognized by the New York Law Journal in the "Rising Stars" category and was profiled in a Q&A. 

Practice Profile: Maggie represents an extensive roster of clients ranging from blue chip public companies to bulge bracket private equity sponsors to prominent private companies who tap her for their most complex and transformative transactions, including structuring and negotiation domestic and internal mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, de-SPAC transactions and other recapitalizations and strategic transactions.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Maggie is passionate about growing the pipeline of female and Latinx talent into M&A and private equity. She regularly participates in discussions at colleges and universities speaking to underrepresented groups and encouraging career paths for women in corporate law and is involved in programs focused on promoting Latinx representation in the legal profession. Maggie was recently a key contributor to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinder Program designed for diverse, high-potential attorneys. She is also involved with The Fourth Floor, a group focused on diversifying boardrooms, and recently served as a speaker on the “State of Private Equity Panel” at the February 2023 Wharton Women in Investing Conference. Maggie also gives of her time to help female-led small businesses navigate the legal aspects of launching and running their companies.

What advice would you give to young lawyers? Establishing yourself as someone willing to grab an opportunity and say “yes” to the challenges in front of you, as daunting or as menial as they may seem, and to capitalize on that opportunity with hard work, dedication and fearlessness can really accelerate your growth and diversify your experience.
