Kirkland Advises on $200M IPO of World Quantum Growth Acquisition Corp., a FinTech-Focused SPAC
Kirkland & Ellis advised World Quantum Growth Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in connection with its $200 million IPO. The SPAC was sponsored by World Quantum Growth Acquisition LLC, a Cayman Islands limited liability company controlled by a group of high-calibre executives led by Xavier Rolet KBE, former CEO of The London Stock Exchange Group, and including Serge Harry, Antoine Shagoury and Michel Brogard.
Although the Company will not be limited to a particular industry or geographic region in its identification and acquisition of a target company, the Company believes the financial services and the financial technology sectors in the U.S. and EMEA as well as relevant technology firms supporting these sectors present particularly attractive investment opportunities. The SPAC’s units began trading on the NYSE under the ticker symbol “WQGA.U” on 11 August, 2021. The offering closed on August 13, 2021.
