Kirkland Represents Vista Equity Partners on Acquisition of Citrix for $16.5 Billion
Kirkland & Ellis advised Vista Equity Partners, a leading global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, on its acquisition alongside Evergreen Coast Capital Corporation, an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management L.P., of Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTXS) for approximately $16.5 billion. Citrix builds the secure, unified digital workspace technology that helps organizations unlock human potential and deliver a consistent workspace experience wherever work needs to get done. Vista and Evergreen intend to combine Citrix with one of Vista’s portfolio companies, TIBCO Software, a global leader in enterprise data management. The combination will create one of the world’s largest software providers. The transaction is expected to close mid-year and is subject to customary closing conditions.
