Kirkland Advises Sun Capital on Smokey Bones Sale

Kirkland & Ellis advised private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. on the sale by its affiliates of restaurant chain Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill to FAT Brands Inc. (NASDAQ: FAT). The transaction closed and was announced on September 25, 2023. The $30 million deal was funded from FAT Brands Inc.’s existing securitization facilities.
