Kirkland Advises Blue Owl Capital on Expansion into Real Estate Finance with Acquisition of Prima Capital Advisors
Kirkland & Ellis advised Blue Owl Capital Inc. (NYSE: OWL), a leading alternative asset manager, on the creation of Blue Owl's Real Estate Finance strategy with the acquisition of Prima Capital Advisors for aggregate consideration of $170 million. Prima manages approximately $10 billion in assets on behalf of institutional investors and select high net worth individuals. The acquisition is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2024, subject to customary closing conditions.
The Kirkland team was led by investment funds partners Christopher Gandia and James Mayne, corporate partner Eric Sweigard and investment funds associate Christopher Simpson.
