Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Partners John O’Quinn, Jason Wilcox, Adam Alper, Mike De Vries, Leslie Schmidt and Akshay Deoras received a shout-out for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Motorola.

"... Shout-out to a Kirkland & Ellis appellate team led by John O’Quinn representing Motorola in a trade secrets case against Hytera involving high-end digital mobile radio products. The Seventh Circuit last week upheld $135.8 million in compensatory damages and $271.6 million in punitive damages under the Defend Trade Secrets Act, but remanded $136.3 million in copyright damages for recalculation limited to Hytera’s domestic sales and to reconsider the issue of apportionment. The appellate court also invited the lower court to reconsider Motorola’s request for a permanent injunction barring Hytera from selling infringing products worldwide or otherwise using stolen IP. The Kirkland team includes Jason Wilcox, Adam Alper, Mike De Vries, Leslie Schmidt and Akshay Deoras."
