Kirkland Advises Oaktree Capital Portfolio Company J&J Ventures on Acquisition of Illinois Gaming Systems
Kirkland & Ellis represented J&J Ventures Gaming LLC, an Illinois-based video gaming terminal operator, on its acquisition of Illinois Gaming Systems LLC, another video gaming terminal operator. With this acquisition, J&J will serve nearly 3,300 gaming and amusement locations in Illinois, making it one of the largest operators in the state. The transaction closed on April 26, 2021. Kirkland previously advised Oaktree Capital Management’s Special Situations Group on its investment in J&J in 2019, and in J&J’s acquisition of Awesome Hand Services LLC in 2020.
